Ha. So as the title announces, I went to the hospital last night/this early morning.

It's not real serious, just some real bad bruising. Anyways, you'll probably want the story right? Well here it is:

So I was out on one of the nearby islands catering a wedding and we only had about ten minutes or so left of clean up, the last few of us who stayed to clean up (A group of our people took an earlier boat home. THe boats take about 15 to 20 minutes to get you to the island, and that is the closest one I was on mind you. They ferrys also run every hour)were just loading stuff in the budget truck we rented. So me and my boyfriend were just sitting on the edge of the truck with the lift partially up so we could rest our feet on it, but when he went to lower it he accidently pressed it to go up. Knowing me and my clumsyness i didn't know my foot was close to the edge, so the heel and achilles tendon area and everything got stuck between the lift and the edge of the truck. Ohh yes, fun stuff. So after a few seconds (which seemed like minutes) of fumbling for the switch I got my foot released and immediately started bawling my eyes out.

My boss has just gotten back from bringing the group down to the docks and he came to look (but we were outside and it was like 10:30pm) so he had to carry my inside and by then I was in shock, shivering like mad and shaking nonstop, oh and crying lots. He had looked at it a bit and he said we needed to go to the hospital to make sure I didnt break anything. The next ferry boat however was due to come back for another hour. Figures. So he tried calling the water taxis, no luck. They were closed for hte night. So he finally called 911, they said they would send someone to get me, but we weren't sure how. After all, we were on an island. So after a while a couple police that were on the island picked me up in an ambulance and brought me down to the docks. Where my chariot awaited. (Which was our brand new fireboat which the city just bought with taxpayers money. which i must say was money well spent.) haha, So I almost got dropped a couple times when they carried me down the boat ramp and the trip back to portland wasn't all that eventful. Besides the fact that one of the medical guys on the boat was Bob Crowley's brother (The guy from maine who won survivor during a season)

So anyways, I finally got to the hospital around 11:30 or so? They did all the x-rays and all that junk. Wasn't broken or anything, just badly bruised. It's kinda gross looking. It didn't break skin but the blood is right there in view. ick. So they gave me an aircast to keep from moving it and wrenching it and crutches to walk around on. Sweet deal, I now get to use the elevators at school instead of walking up four flights of stairs. I can't complain


And that was my eventful night/morning.
